Learning Commons: Tours, Instruction Programmes
We don't provide formal Orientation tours, but invite academic staff to bring students in at any time to familiarise them with the Learning Commons.
Printed brochures about our services and Key Resource guides are available at the entrance and provide students with information and help on where to start. All of this information and more is found online on our Web pages! Please point your students to our website and show them all of the online services we offer and links to thousands of resources: http://library.weltec.ac.nz/
Teaching staff can arrange instruction programmes specifically designed for their course. Formal class instruction on academic skills (information literacy, numeracy and literacy, research skills, database search training, essay and report writing etc) can be provided by learning commons staff on a booking basis. Please email us to book instruction programmes. Learning support tutors are available for this type of training: library@weltec.ac.nz.
Check out the new Springboard Information Literacy Online Modules from Otago University designed for educators to incorporate Information Literacy into the classroom - a great online resource.
